Counselling Approach
I believe that counselling should be a space where you feel truly heard, understood, and supported. My approach is a blend of existential, Gestalt, and person-centred therapy, tailored to your unique experiences and needs. My approach is also informed by Clarkson’s Five-Relationship Model, recognising that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful space for insight, healing, and change.
Exploring the deeper questions of life, understanding emotions in the present moment, and working in a way that empowers you to make meaningful choices. I provide a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can reflect, grow, and develop new perspectives. Whether you're facing grief, relationship difficulties, or personal struggles, I will work alongside you to help navigate your challenges with greater self-awareness and confidence.
Existential Approach
Existential counselling focuses on the deeper questions of life, such as meaning, purpose, freedom, and responsibility. I help clients explore their values, beliefs, and choices, particularly when facing uncertainty, loss, or life transitions. By reflecting on these fundamental aspects, clients can develop a greater sense of self-awareness and empowerment to make meaningful decisions.
Gestalt Approach
Gestalt therapy emphasises the importance of the present moment. I encourage clients to become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in the here and now. At the same time, we explore how past experiences may still influence you today, helping you process unresolved feelings and move towards greater self-acceptance. This approach helps clients reconnect with themselves, take ownership of their emotions, and develop new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
Person-Centred Approach
At the heart of my counselling practice is a person-centred approach, which ensures that sessions are guided by the client's needs. I provide a warm, non-judgmental, and empathetic space where clients feel truly heard and understood. By fostering a trusting relationship, I support clients in discovering their own strengths and solutions, promoting self-growth and resilience.
